Israel Shouldn't Need Our Money

I don’t know much the United States gives to Israel in the way of foreign aid, loans and other gifts, but U.S. military aid to Israel exceeds 100 Billion dollars.  There are some who would say that this is not enough – especially among those whose eschatology veers towards the dispensationalist.

The Christian Zionist believes that a true Christian nation will give unquestioning support and loyalty toward the nation of Israel, and to even talk of reducing financial and military aid is akin to “cursing” Israel and will bring down the wrath of God.

But…

if we’re to take the Bible at it most literal, face value, it says what it means and means what it says (as most Christian Zionists, and dispensationalists would say that we must) then Israel should not need our gifts and loans.

When the Lord your God has blessed you [Israel], as he promised you, you will lend to many nations, but you will not borrow… Deuteronomy 15: 6
