Perpetua’s story should please us;
before her death she dreamt of Jesus,
who, with a welcome word
greeted her with a curd;
Heaven is for those who love Cheeses.
All right… So it isn’t exactly a biblical limerick. St. Perpetua was a third century Christian martyr. You can read her story here. The part about the cheese is in chapter four.
